November Contestant: Ramie

Cutest Cat Ramie image
Meet Ramie!  He was a 13 month old Siamese cat who was submitted by his loving mommy Cindie, from Canada.  Sadly Ramie passed away from Fip( Feline infectious peritonitis) on the day we received this e-mail.  He was the light of Cindie's life and as you can imagine, she misses him dearly.  All of us here wish to let Cindie, in her own words, tell us all about her beloved Ramie.  We have attached her touching e-mail below.  Our hearts go out to you Cindie and we will always be here for you, if you ever need a friend or a shoulder to lean on.

Dear MyCutePetPics,

This is a pic of my beloved boy Ramie (taken in September), who heartbreakingly passed away from FIP today. He was only one year and one month old, and the light of my life.

He was a beautiful but atypical Siamese cross with odd lynxpoint markings, startlingly blue eyes, and a sweet and sunny disposition.

None of our six cats were allowed outside, but when Ramie was diagnosed with FIP at the beginning of September, we let him outside under strict supervision, because it was what he longed for so much. (He even figured out how to open a particular type of door handle in his quest to Go Outside!) He was the happiest camper imaginable when his wishes were granted, going for long, chatty walks with us on the trails in the woods on our property, exploring everything, going up the long, long driveway to my brother's cabin to visit his 'Uncle Todd', catching a shrew, unsuccessfully stalking the squirrels and birds, and basking in the glorious September sunshine. One of the trails he loved so much has been named after him, and he his now buried where it begins.

Ramie came to us as a sickly but plucky 5 week old kitten from the Duncan SPCA. He blossomed and blessed our lives here in Errington, BC Canada on Vancouver Island for just a year and three days. We'd been hoping for at least 20 years, and we are devastated without him. We'd never even heard of feline infectious peritonitis before. Our beloved boy purred right until the end.

Please tell me his passing away does not exclude him from your contest. I already know he is/was the cutest cat ever, but others perhaps need to see how truly amazing he really was....
  Thank you,

Ramie's bereaved Mom, Cindie

For those of you who have never heard of Fip( Feline infectious peritonitis) , here is 2 very detailed articles on this fatal disease.

This is a very touching letter we just received from Debbie and we had to ahare it, with our dear members.  She is going through a very hard time after losing Poochy.  She is in our prayers and we hope that her pain will ease in time.  We know what she is going through and it isn't easy.  We are glad that your cute doggies, Duke & Bandit are by your side, during these upsetting days.

W wish we knew the perfect answer to help make you feel 100% better asap, but unfortunately we don't.  What we can say out of personal experience is that it does get better in time.  Poochy is in Heaven with his new friends, jumping and running around without any pain whatsoever.  He doesn't want you to be upset and he also hopes you know that he is ok now.  We wish you and your family the best Debbie, and you are all in our prayers.

I have attached her touching e-mail below
;

I don't know how to handle this...
I have been crying for weeks, knowing what was waiting ahead and what
decisions I had to make, just watching this beautiful creature I took in 12 1/2 years ago deteriorate and get progressively sicker and sicker... It broke my heart to watch this day and night. So when the woman I work for told me "Debbie when it hurts to look at Pooch, you know what you have to do", that was when I made my final decision... I had to let him go... as much as I hated to do it...

It only seems like yesterday that I scooped him up from that lonely street and brought him home with me, waiting for his owners to contact us...I kept thinking how could someone not want this awesome dog, and to be honest I was glad no one ever contacted us... he gave me 12 1/2 great years...I'm pretty sure I gave him a better life than he had with someone else...

I've had many pets pass away on me but I think being Pooch was so sick and I spent so many days and nights up taking care of him that it created this bond between us... which made it harder to let go... they all still have a place in my heart but this one is different, I actually feel like a part of me is missing... I look out in the back yard and I feel soooo empty... All the others died on their own from "old age"... which is still heart breaking...

I do still have two other dogs at home with me... I have a greyhound (Bandit) who I rescued back in November of 2002 (age 3) and a black lab (Duke) that I rescued last November at the nice old age of 11... His family was all going their separate ways, husband and wife divorcing, kids moving on and no one wanted him anymore  :(   So the night they were gonna have him put down I brought him home and that was almost a year ago (11/13)... Fortunately he had the same vet as Poochie and Bandit so I knew when he was scheduled to be pts... I just couldn't let a healthy old man go cause no one wanted him...

Well I think I took up enough of your time but thank you so much for listening and letting me get some of this out... It really helps...

~debbie~

Please Debbie, you don't ever have to worry about taking up our time.  We are friends now and your are part of the MyCutepetPics family.  We will always be here for you if you need an ear, shoulder or just a friend.  Have a wonderful day and God Bless.

RIP Little Poochie

Poochie Photograph
Photograph of the doggy Poochie-RIP

We just received this e-mail this weekend and wanted to wish Poochie farewell.  Our hearts go out to his mommy Debbie & her family as we know how much pain they are going through.  We hope he has found Ace, Botton and Bubba in heaven and they are all healthy and running around like children.  God Bless all of our lost loved ones.

In May of '96 I found this black lab mix running in the streets of Manhattan...
Worried for him I picked him up and drove him home with me...
He had a collar on with a current rabies tag, was neutered, house trained and knew all your basic commands (sit, stay, lay down, etc...)
However I proceeded to bring him home and try to find his owners...
I contacted the HSUS in NY, and tried to find him thru the rabies ID tag with no luck of anyone
claiming they lost a dog that looked anything like him...
So we settled in for the night and I temporarily named him "Poochie" cause I didn't want to pick out a name for him and then someone claim him (that would've made me sad)...
So we waited and waited for Poochie's owners to contact us still with no luck...
He now knew his new name...
After 1 month of waiting I took him to my vet and got all him all new shots...
Took him to my town got him a new rabies ID tag...
And now I must tell you Poochie gave me some of the happiest memories I could ever get from a dog...
We spent 12 1/2 years together and my beloved Pooch just passed away this past Wednesday night...
He became very ill and I was spending all my time taking care of him, getting only 15-20 hrs of sleep
a week (and still keeping my job without collapsing)...
But I made a promise to him when I took him in, that I would love and take care of him til the end...
And that is exactly what I did....

Debbie Grosinski.

All of us here at MyCutePetPics just wanted to thank you all so much for your support and condolences on losing our baby girl, Ace.  It has been a very rough time here without her but she would've wanted us to go on and keep connecting all of us pet lovers from around the globe.

We have lots of submissions to go through and we will be posting them all throughout  the weekend.  Thank you all so much for all the e-mails, comments and phone calls as they meant the world to us.  We will continue with our blog in Acey's name.  We truly believe she is in Heaven now and has become best friends with Bubba and Botton.  When we see them again we will run into eachother's arms with tears of joy.  Until then we will keep them in our hearts and always remember the great times we had together.

Our Baby Ace Has Went To Rainbow Bridge

We have lost a beloved family member and a huge piece of our hearts & souls today.  We planned to take Ace to the vet today but unfortunately when I woke I was horrified and broken hearted to find that Ace had passed away in her sleep.  I have not been this distraught and have not cried so much since I can even ever remember and Josy is deeply hurting and so broken up.

Unfortunately we did not discover the eye infection until around midnight last night which was to late to take her to the vet.  So we went online and searched under the keywords rabbit eye infection and found dozens of articles and several ask a vet sites.  The consensus was to boil some tap water and then let it chill to a very mild temperature then flush out the rabbits eye until you can take her to the vet or to just get some Baytril and administer it yourself.  They all made it seem like her condition is quite normal in rabbits and not one of them mentioned it could be life threatening.  These people are no pet experts because if they were they would of stated any rabbit illness can be fatal due to how sensitive their systems are.

After awhile we settled somewhat down and we then wanted to know why.  Why did this happen to our baby?  So Josy typed in fatal bunny eye infection or something similar and she found a Q&A article stating that a rabbit with the exact eye condition had also passed away over night and the owner also wanted to know why.  The vet on that blog stated that even the slightest cold can be fatal to a rabbit as they are very sensitive creatures and panic easily.  Why couldn't we have found that article last night and why did all those so called pet expert vets not mention anything about it possibly being fatal is my question.  If we had only known we could of rushed her to the dog/cat emergency room in the city last night.

We woke up very early this morning and her eye was already showing signs of improvement as it wasn't as swollen or pussy.  When we checked again on line this morning all the ask a vets online said this was pretty normal and sometimes they get eye irritations that last for only 24hrs.  They were so wrong and they are no pet health experts as they state they are.

So please everyone if your pet is even the slightest ill never turn to an online ask a vet sites or pet health forums.  Just to be on the safe side rush your pet to the nearest vet and if it's after hours find a local emergency room to take your animals.  I would give up anything in the world to have her back by our side as life will not be the same without her.  This has been the hardest lesson we have ever learned and don't want any of you to ever go through the same.

I don't know how Josy had the strength to make this video or how I have the strength to write right now but we don't want any of you to ever go through the same heartache.  I can't even hear the first lyrics of the song in this video with hysterically breaking down.

We will be taking a break from posting anything on the blog as we need time to recover and to find the strength to go on.  I apologize for not returning any e-mails or phone calls today and will not be answering either for a few days.  I need to find the strength to get through this and will go into a bubble of sorts where I can just spend all the time i can with our lil babies.  They are also very distraught and Casper has been searching the house for her and meowing to us asking us where her best friend is.  It's too heartbreaking to write anymore as i am in tears and ready to break down.  I am also so sorry if my writing is all over the place but I cannot think straight at the moment.

Thank you all for all your support thus far and we are sorry that we have to pause the blog but I just don't have the strength right now to go on and update happy stories and pictures when I am so broken.

We love you so much Ace and will always miss you.  We pray you are now with God in a field full of carrot and apple trees and in no pain.  We hope and pray we will be with eachother again and look forward to the day when we will meet again.  You were only 2 1/2 years old and way too young to leave us but maybe God needed your wonderful companionship more then we do.  Please know we love you with ever beat of our hearts and every breathe we take, we will be thinking of you.

May God Bless you all and all of your pets.  Take every chance you have to show and tell them how much you love them and how much you need them.  Take care for now everyone and sorry we have to take a break but hopefully you will all understand.

Love,
Darrin & Josy

Farewell to our beloved Ace.

We will always love you.

From,

Mommy & Daddy...

Farewell To Our Beloved Puppy Bubba

RIP

Cutest puppy photograph

Unfortunately I regret to inform you all of a tragic loss of a beloved pet from our site this past weekend .  Bubba The jack Russel Terrier escaped from his families home Saturday evening and was struck and killed by a car.  Our hearts and sympathy goes out to Abby and her family at this unimaginable sad time.  We have been so distraught for the last couple of days since hearing this news and can't imagine the intense pain Abby and her family is going through.  Abby had rescued this adorable lil guy from the streets where she found him half frozen to death, on the side of the road.  He had stopped breathing twice on the vets table but never give up.  He was such a fighter that he came back from the brink of death twice to defy the odds.

Our heart and prayers go out to you and your family Abby.  If there is anything we could ever do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.  We are here for you.  God Bless you and your family.

I have included a beautiful pet poem and will also paste the original post of Bubba and her e-mail to us from Saturday night.  As you can see by her e-mail, they are deeply suffering  .  Please everyone if you have a moment you can send your condolences for Abby in this comments post below the text.  We also thank you all so very much for the beautiful condolences you posted for Sharon during the week after her loss of Botton.  It meant the world to us and Sharyn.  God Bless you all.

Love,

Darrin & Josy

Rainbow Bridge Poem:

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

E-mail received from Abby Saturday evening:

It is with great sorrow that I am sending you this email.  Bubba escaped from my home this evening and was struck and killed by a car. I can not even begin to describe the pain and anguish my family and myself are feeling at this time. It would please us greatly if you would keep his picture on your site.

Sincerely,

Abby Lombardi

Original Post:

Meet Bubba a Jack Russell Terrier who was submitted by his loving mother Abby.  Abby found this adorable puppy this past winter all alone on the side of the road half frozen to death.  This little guy is a miracle pup who stopped breathing twice on the vet's table.  Bubba is such a fighter that he came back from the brink of death!  Nobody ever tried to claim him but luckily Abby gave him a forever home and all the love in the world. Abby is studying to be a vet tech online and when she is at school Bubba curls up and sleeps on her lap.  Thank you so much Abby for being such a wonderful person and giving Bubba a loving forever home.
