August Cutest Pet Contestant: Sammy & Botton

Sammy is the amazing pot-bellied pig pictured here with his best friend, Botton, an African Congo Grey.  This photo was submitted by their mommy, Sharyn.

Sharyn saved Botton, the African Congo Grey, from being bounced from store to store for over 3 years.  Store employees had never informed Sharyn that Botton had a severe seizure disorder.  Botton has been with Sharyn for a year when Sammy strolled along and joined the family.  Botton's seizures continued until he had the ultimate seizure that should've killed him!  Sharyn brought Botton to the vet everyday for about a week and a half to get treated with medication that saved him.  Imagine the vet bills!  Go mommy!  Two years later, due to the seizure that effected his legs, poor Botton is unable to perch.  The fortunate thing is, Botton has not had a single seizure!  Seems like a fair trade!  This picture represents the bond shared between pig and bird.  Sammy, the pig, took Botton under his "hoof" from day 1 of this whole ordeal and took care of him everyday!  They are, and will always be, the best of friends!
